Kentucky time zones

49 CFR 71.5(c) brings the Central–Eastern line across the Ohio River from Perry County, Indiana, to the west line of Meade County, then around Hardin, Larue, Taylor, Casey, Pulaski, and Wayne counties. Louisville and Lexington are on the eastern side. The Jackson Purchase and the western coal field are central.

The boundary file still uses America/Kentucky/Louisville and America/Kentucky/Monticello for parts of the eastern side. Both keep the same 2026 clock as America/New_York, including daylight saving time. Central Kentucky uses America/Chicago.

The county list on this page is the sample of Census outlines against that boundary file. Where the regulation follows a county line, a county should land entirely on one side. River counties can pick up a sliver of the other identifier; the clock, not the sliver, is what the page treats as the zone.
