About Meridian
Meridian answers a narrow question: what time is it, legally and on the clock, at a county in the United States. The home map colors every county. State pages list the clocks. County pages exist for every county in a state the zone line actually cuts, plus Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, the Plains states on the central–mountain line, Texas, Idaho, Oregon, and Michigan.
The legal lines are in 49 CFR Part 71. The polygons are from timezone-boundary-builder, read through geo-tz. The county shapes are the Census Bureau's 1:10,000,000 cartographic boundaries, packaged by us-atlas. Nothing here is an account, a feed of your location, or a substitute for the regulation when a town sits on the line.
Clocks are computed in your browser with the IANA time zone database that ships in the JavaScript engine. The page is static. It does not ask a server what time it is.
